"Transforming learning experiences through innovation, interactivity, and instructional excellence."
The client—an EdTech organization—was in the process of rolling out its proprietary XYZ curriculum across multiple partner educational institutions. The existing curriculum in these institutions lacked alignment with 21st-century learning outcomes, prompting the need for a rapid, scalable solution to onboard educators to the new framework.
The key challenge was to accelerate curriculum adoption while minimizing the time and resources spent on live training sessions. Educators had varying levels of familiarity with foundational pedagogical concepts, necessitating a solution that could act as a refresher while introducing key instructional shifts. Ensuring clarity, consistency, and engagement—despite time constraints—was critical to the success of the initiative.
Educators and academic stakeholders from partner organizations newly implementing the XYZ curriculum.
This microlearning asset was created as part of a client onboarding initiative to introduce educators to the core principles of the newly adopted XYZ curriculum. Delivered as a concise, high-impact explainer video, the module served as a rapid refresher on foundational teaching practices embedded in the updated curriculum design.
The solution was built to streamline curriculum adoption by offering a time-efficient, scalable alternative to traditional onboarding. By focusing on essential instructional concepts, the asset enabled quicker integration, reduced reliance on live sessions, and contributed to a more consistent and satisfying experience across partner institutions.
In planning this microlearning asset, I focused on creating a resource that respected the prior knowledge of educators while still guiding them through the key shifts introduced in the XYZ curriculum. The goal was to strike a balance between refreshing and reframing familiar pedagogical principles, without being overly simplistic or overly academic.
Why a video format?
A short, animated explainer video was chosen to deliver the content for several reasons:
Familiarity + Efficiency: Most educators already had exposure to core instructional concepts during their teacher training. A concise video allowed for a rapid knowledge refresh without overwhelming or repeating known content.
Engagement over Exhaustion: Instead of a lengthy live session or slide-heavy walkthrough, the video used dynamic visuals, voiceover, and real-classroom examples to keep the content engaging and easy to digest.
Scalability: With educators spread across multiple partner institutions, a video offered a consistent learning experience that could be reused across cohorts, reducing the dependency on facilitators and live training logistics.
Tone and Respect: The messaging was intentionally framed in a way that validated existing expertise while introducing updates and new strategies—ensuring educators didn’t feel like they were starting from zero or being “retrained.”
To bring this project to life, I followed a structured yet flexible development process—ensuring the final output was not only instructionally sound but also engaging and scalable.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Worked closely with SMEs and curriculum designers to identify key instructional principles and define the right tone of voice for partner-facing content.
Script & Storyboard Development
Crafted a concise, engaging script rooted in adult learning principles and aligned with the client’s communication style. A detailed storyboard helped visualize the narrative and flow.
Media Design
Designed the visual flow and animations using PowerPoint, incorporating brand-aligned elements and scenario-based visuals to enhance relatability.
Multimedia Production
Edited and sequenced the video using Camtasia and Premiere Pro. Audio layering was done in Audacity, combining professional voiceovers with subtle sound effects. AI voiceovers were also used for faster feedback loops during early drafts.
Review & Finalization
Shared alpha and beta versions with internal stakeholders and a partner pilot group. Based on their feedback, I made final refinements to maximize clarity, learner engagement, and instructional impact
These objectives were developed to support quick knowledge activation and practical understanding of curriculum updates, using Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guiding framework.
